Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
We are located in Big Water, Utah, eight miles north of the
Wahweap Marina.
Do you rent at Bullfrog, Hall's Crossing or Hite Marinas?
No, we do not. We rent from Big Water, Utah, which is 8 miles
from Wahweap Marina and about 25 miles from Antelope Point Marina.
What are your rental hours?
Our rental hours are from 8a.m. to 6p.m. UTAH time (Mountain
Daylight). If you are staying in Page, or are going off of the
Arizona time zone, the rental period would be from 7a.m. to 5p.m.
If the boat is returned after 6p.m. you will be charged for a
half-day rental. We do not issue refunds for early returns.
Do I need a boat license?
A boat license is not required. In order to rent from us,
you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
How much is the deposit and is it refundable?
When you make a reservation with us, we will ask for a credit
card number to hold the reservation. A deposit of $300 will be
charged to your card when you arrive to pick up the rental. You
may use the same card that you made the reservation with or you
may use a different card. When the rental is brought back in the
same condition it was taken, the deposit will be refunded to your
credit card. Security deposits must be paid by credit card. We
will not accept checks for the deposit or the rental. Reservations
canceled within 48hrs of the rental will be charged a cancellation
fee of $50.
Can I bring my dog?
Pets are welcome on our rentals as long as you accept all
responsibility for any damages. There is a cleaning fee of $40
that will be taken out of your deposit if the rental is brought
back excessively dirty.
Do you have to have a porta potty onboard when camping overnight?
Yes, a porta potty is required for all campers. We do provide
porta potties free of charge. You MUST return the porta
potty empty and clean. If it is not brought back empty and clean,
you may clean it at our facility although we recommend cleaning
it at the dumping station at the lake. If you do not clean it,
you will be expected to pay for it. There are several locations
on the lake for dumping and cleaning the porta potty which we
will explain to you during the checkout process.
What equipment comes with the boat?
All necessary safety equipment is included with all boats.
We also have extra life jackets, ropes, gas cans, ice chests,
and maps available free of charge as long as you bring them back.
Do you rent houseboats?
No, houseboats can only be rented through the marinas. For houseboat
rentals please visit www.lakepowell.com or www.antelopepointlakepowell.com.
Can you launch and retrieve the boat for us?
No. Due to National Park Service rules and regulations, all
rentals must be launched and retrieved by the renter. Your vehicle
must be equipped with a two-inch tow ball or we have tow vehicles
available for your use. Our tow vehicles are $40 flat rate. The
tow vehicle may remain at the lake for your entire rental period.
You will have to pay the required $15 park entrance fee. Just
like our rentals, the vehicle will be full of fuel when you take
it and it needs to be brought back full of fuel.
How soon do we need to make reservations?
While there is always a chance for a last minute rental, we
highly recommend you make your reservations as soon as you have
set your vacation dates. If we do not have availability, we can
recommend other rental companies in the area.
Does the boat come full of gas?
Yes, the boat comes full of gas and it needs to be returned
that way. There is fuel available at any of the marinas. There
is also a filling station between our rental location and the
launch ramp. If the boat is not returned full of fuel there is
a $15 service charge plus the cost of the fuel to fill it back
up.
How long will it take to complete the paperwork?
The paperwork and check out process time depends on the questions
you have. On average, it takes about 15 minutes to go through
the paperwork and another 15 minutes to go through the rental
checkout.
